COMPACT MACHINE ROOM (MRL) ELEVATORS

Compact Machine Room elevators reduce the amount of space required for the machine room. Traditional elevators had much more components that needed to be housed which required loads of wasted space in terms of the building design. This design will mostly be implemented when older elevators are upgraded or the building design already has a dedicated machine room.

Compact Machine rooms lead to reduction in space, cost and time.

MACHINE ROOM LESS (MRL) ELEVATORS

Machine room less elevators do not require a machine room at the top of the shaft, instead the traction hoisting motor is installed inside the elevator shaft. The use of a pemanent magnet synchronous and gearless drive system requires much less space than conventional drive systems and eliminates the need for a dedicated machine room, freeing up more building space.

While the hoisting motor is installed inside the shaft, the main controller is installed in a locked cabinet on the top floor next to the landing doors.

MRL Elevators can serve up to 20 floors and travel at speeds of up to 2.5m per- second.
